I believe that it’s is wrong that half a million North Carolinians, including children, go without health insurance because they can’t afford it. In the Legislature, I am working to break the partisan gridlock and finally expand Medicaid in North Carolina. Not only will it help people who need health insurance but it will lower premiums for ALL North Carolinians, create thousands of jobs and help the state gain billions in new revenue.
In addition, I am against any changes to current law that will remove protections for people with pre-existing conditions. We cannot return to the times when people were denied insurance for reasons outside of their control.
Women deserve the right to make the best health care decisions for themselves. Government shouldn’t be in our bedrooms and it shouldn’t be in our doctor’s offices. I support every North Carolina women’s right to make the best decision for them.
